is there a way to totally disable the 96 pathfinder alarm?

Not sure if mine works correctly, but I have to constantly turn it off. Got to turn it off if I use the key to open the door, then I have to turn it off again when I goto crank the car, and again when I go to get out of the car, pretty annoying, and I would rather disable the entire thing and just use key entry if possible.
