I am began tearing parts out of my car today so I can sound dampen the entire vehicle and obviously I have removed a lot of clips. All the little clips are easy to remove, some have the center pieces that pop out first and some do not.

For some reason the clips holding in the trunk lining are impossible to remove!!! Is there a trick or am I doing something wrong!? I have a pry set and that wont work, I tried just pulling with my hands and now there sore, and I tried pulling the surrounding carpet and tore some.

Please help if you can! The clips are in the trunk and pictured below! Thanks.

If there is a small piece in the middle of the clip then push the center in and they should pull right out.

I wish it was that easy. The entire piece is hard plastic, there is nothing to push on and no center piece to remove.

Then you need a clip tool or just ruin them and get new ones. Nissan dealer has them in stock, at least I do here.

Honestly man, if I could ruin them I would. These things are not coming out, I have pry tools and have tried many different ones. I dont know if I'm useless or if these things are just in for good, I have removed about 3-4 different clips from other parts of the car with no problem.

yeah those clips are a REAL pain to take out you just have to pull on them hard and ruin them. I just used a flat head screwdriver.

that's strange, those don't look the typical clips that hold in the carpet in the trunk.. looks like your clips are unique. maybe ask the dealer where you bought it from how to get the clips out, and if they say to pull out the centre piece first, show them a pic of your unusual clips. just a thought

Those clips r annoyin to remove but 4 the most part, if you dont have a clip removal tool, try sliding a needle nose plier between head and trim then pull straight down with a rockin motion.

yea i removed those to put in my step down for my subs...just use a needle nose plier and pull them as hard as you can...they're a pain to yank out but most likely you won't damage them

Posted the solution in your other thread.

Use wire cutters. Replace with new ones. They're not really reusable.

I figured it out! I wrapped steel wire around the clip and then put on a thick glove and pulled like crazy. About four of the clips came out reusable and the rest were no good.
