Is there a rev limiter in a 1990 240sx?

Hey,

I just recently bought a 1990 240sx with the K24 motor in it. Well i havent had any problems out of it other than when im driving it down the road and i get over 3500 RPM in top gear it will kill off for a second like it has a rev limiter on it. I figure it does and i am not too concerned in taking it off because i dont like to drive too fast.

Yes there is a rev limiter - but as for 3500 in 5th gear? I don't believe the cutoff should be that soon.

The speed limiter should kick in around 118. I know I go 70mph at 3000rpm in 5th gear, so 3500 is way too soon. There is also rev limiter on the engine, but I think that doesn't kick in until 130 or so.
