The original question is regarding playing of video DVD's while driving, but to answer your question, what I've seen done in G35's is to place the speed signal that goes to the Navi's DVD-ROM drive on a switch. This signal tells it when the car is moving. Switching the signal off will tell the nav system the car is not moving. Consequently, the Nav system will not update the location of your vehicle while the signal is disconnected, but will update once the signal is conected again. Not a perfect system, but can allow you to enter an address while driving. Though, given the complication of entering addresses while driving, I would highly not recommend doing so. I can pretty much say that few people will ever have a need to input an address while moving. Remember that the nav system is a luxury, not a necessity. so are cell phones, radios and even cup holders. As with any of them, use them responsibly.
