Is there a market for my 19" factory sport wheels?

Before I go down the path, just putting my feelers out there.I have some wheels I'm trying to find adapters for that I'd like to stick on the G, but then thinking it would be nice to sell off my factory sport wheels.

I've seen a few ppl here talk about how they've upgraded to the sports and just got my "wheels" turning. Can I expect a relatively easy time selling them?

I only ask because I really don't want to store an extra set of tires/wheels (as I am today). If it helps with the scenario, they are off an '06, 7k miles, and have a few flaws (nothing major, but not pristine).

Lastly, NO... I'm not selling them now, nor should this be considered an ad, just wanted to know my options in advance.

thanks

Nope, not going to post pics as I'm trying to be sensitive to "an ad versus a post". Not trying to sneak in a sales pitch, but simply want to know if I have a snowball's chance of selling them either on this site or on ebay or ???If not, I'll probably keep them on the car and try to sell ther others somewhere else as they are MUCH more valuable than the OEM wheels.

So, address the Q pls: "Are 19 inch sport wheels desired and/or sought after in the open market?".

I'll gladly post lots of pictures in an ad if so.And.... I'll post pics of my G with the new shoes should I go that direction, too (should be rockin' looking!!!!!).

Here's an easy answer to your question.

Go eBay. Do an advanced search. Click the "Completed listings" check box and then search for "19 G35 rims"

The word Factory or OEM might also help.

Then you can see how many auctions went unbid, what the usual sales price was for those that sold...etc.

But yes, your rims are in relatively high demand. Just don't go gouge someone. K?

I'd consider buying them off you, if the price was right.

Ok guys, frankly the response was a little more than I anticipated; sounds like several of you are actually interested pre-ad.

Just so we are clear, I have yet to verify if I can even mount my other wheels on my G and what they will look like. That being said and assuming I will in fact be selling my wheels, here they are…..

Front passenger. No blems that I can see -

Rear passenger. 1 small ding that I spotted -

Driver's rear. Couple of small dings and one of the lug holes has a spot that the paint chipped off -

Driver's front. This is the worst of the bunch. Couple of small dings, but along the edge there is a 6" or so long bit of scrapping. Unsure how this happened but it's not a curb shot -

So, there you go. After I taking these pictures I'm realizing they are in pretty decent shape with only a few blems here and there; basically none are noticable from more than 10 feet. Not "brand new" but pretty close!

So what would I ask for these? As an earlier poster indiciated I went onto ebay and "priced" them. Now I know that ebay is far from a perfect way to price something but to be honest they came in under what I had imagined. But, keeping things simple, I'd ask for an even $1k for them (plus shipping 'course). Seems pretty fair to me and I'm not completely desparate to get rid of them, but that is the least amount I'd feel good about selling them for. Price would include the Potenzas with around 7k miles on them and I'm assuming I would just leave the tire pressure sensors on the wheels (pretty sure, still need to check with my tire guy though).

If anybody is STILL interested, you will need to give me at least a few days to verify that I can find wheel adapters and then the couple of days it takes to get them before I could sell these off (they are on the car as I type this).

So there you go.......... let the fur fly.

I wouldn't pay 1k for used wheels. Maybe $500-$700.

Zippy,

The rims probably "retail" for around $800/each brand new. Nobody in their right mind would pay that much.

I've seen them for around $400 with some blems on them.

Asking a grand for them...*crickets* I'm on the fence about that. Having the tires still mounted is cool and ups their value, but 1k?

I personally wouldn't leave the TPS on the rims. Those things are expensive from what I remember.

$800/each for new? That's what I was thinking.

And $400 for each or for a set? This is nowhere near what I've seen. Now who is gouging????

Perhaps this is just one big misunderstanding.... I'm not asking a grand/each, I was saying a grand total for all 4, with tires, with sensors, etc. Am I to understand that some of you guys are thinking that you can go out and pick up one of these for $100 with tires? If so, fine, go knock yourself out. I'll just hold onto them and store 'em somewhere.

Dealer prices on wheels are outrageous.

$1k for 4 is too much, IMHO. For $1k I can throw a set of 5 star Weds Sport racing wheels on my car. Thay are lightweight and beautiful. For $1600 I can put Gram lites on.

I wouldn't buy used stock wheels, but if I were to do so, I don't thiunk I'd spend more than $400-$500/set.

I won't delete the thread. It may be useful to someone else at a later date.

I'd keep the wheels personally. They look great, and are a lightweight wheel.

To clarify. I've seen the 19" G35 rims in "OK" condition for $400/set.

The dealership likes overcharging on rims. They wanted eight or nine hundred for my mom's 16" QX4 3 spoke rim when she hit a curb. Thank God for full sized spares.

If the tires have good tread on them you can probably get $800 or so for them. I wouldn't spend more than that on them. Actually, I'd just do like beancooker and get aftermarkets.

700-800 shipped is a fairly competitive price from what I have seen, especially if tires need to be replaced.
