available for these cars?

I cannot recall ever hearing of one "equipped" with PS, it just came on them. I figure the folks that are racing the cars aren't running PS, so are you just removing the pump and capping off the rack? What about EVO (think that's what it is called)?

Sometimes it takes awhile for people to respond. Be patient...

PS. I don't know.

Just thought I would mention my coming across this information from a FB Z page.

There are apparently some "how to" posts on tt.net that discuss one of these being slightly modified and used. I have also come across a number of threads on them being used in LS1 swaps on the 32.

If anyone has any more info it would be appreciated.

When I was part of the honda world (mentions this quietly) we would just loop the feed and return lines to a reservoir mounted down low. This could be a possible option. The other option on some racks that I've seen is to tear into the gearing in the rack, clean it out real good and grease the hell out of it. There was a pressure spring we'd have to remove and it worked like a charm. I will say though that any of the Hondas that I did this to were allot lighter than any z32 will ever be. Food for thought.

The reason I ask is a common issue to many owners of these z's...My rack, pump, and high pressure line are leaking. Just on parts alone I am at about $700 the cheapest stuff I can find. The Omni rack goes for around $300 and will take another hundo or so for fabrication I figure.
I have taken PS out of many of my sport cars in the past, most commonly just doing away with the plumbing, sealing the rack and being done. I have seen the write ups on "grease filling" the rack for the 31, but haven't seen one for the 32 yet...has to be about the same.
It is sort of a catch 22 really. I already have more money into this car than I will ever get out. The PS "works" for now and my understanding is that unhooking it will only speed up it's demise for later. I have no plans to sell, but these things happen. Thinking down the road, I need to fix a minor oil leak and a midshaft bearing sooner than later, as well as my top frame before winter. I figure that unhooking it, since I need the whole system anyway, may not be a bad plan until next year.
