So like everyone that has thought about owning a skyline in the states, my first thought is to own it as a kit car.
Living in Washington state, it doesn't appear to need to be fully NHTSA certified (the body, that is).
It appears that the three sticking points from the Revised Washington Code (
http://apps.leg.wa.gov/wac/default.aspx ... &full=true) would be the windshield (DOT certified), bumpers (SAE certified for the manufactured year) and speedo in MPH format(I assume this would be the easiest one to do). I would not be attempting to have it be a federalized , just a Type 1 Kit Car registered in Washington.
So has anyone came across this? I did a search and couldn't find anything on windshields...
