Is there a DOT certified windshield that fits the skyline (not custom made) and.

So like everyone that has thought about owning a skyline in the states, my first thought is to own it as a kit car.

Living in Washington state, it doesn't appear to need to be fully NHTSA certified (the body, that is).

It appears that the three sticking points from the Revised Washington Code (http://apps.leg.wa.gov/wac/default.aspx ... &full=true) would be the windshield (DOT certified), bumpers (SAE certified for the manufactured year) and speedo in MPH format(I assume this would be the easiest one to do). I would not be attempting to have it be a federalized , just a Type 1 Kit Car registered in Washington.

So has anyone came across this? I did a search and couldn't find anything on windshields...

i guess you never saw a JDM car up in personal casue if you look at the windows they all say DOT on it

Anyone with a gray market(anyone that didn't go through motorex) skyline as a "kit car" want to take an up close shot for me?

my evo 3 has dot on all the windowmy old gtir has dot on all teh glass as well as my GTS32 and its not a motorex car

If your winshield breaks, where do you guys get replacements from? Looking for a US company; currently we have to source them from Japan and pay a lot for shipping...

The glass has DOT marks on it, you are fine. Who in America could get you replacement should you catch a rockchip though is unknown to me.
