I'm pretty sure the Hotshot header is CARB legal.

nope, it's not. The only CARB legal header there ever has been was made by Greddy (S14 only) and it sucked straight donkey d*@$.

Sorry Insanity, I didn't know that the DC was carb legal. The Greddy sucked phat johnson because it kept cracking at the secondary flange in front of the o2 sensor. I went thru three of them before I said F' it and went with Hotshot since it was the only other one around in 2002. Well I hear there was Pacesetter but yeah ok whatever!

Doesn't Nismo have a set of headers? Or are those just the Hotshot headers?

Correction: Nismo does indeed sell the Hotshots, according to Courtesyparts.com

So this is what goes on in Nissan & Infiniti Engineering Talk.... oookkkkkk, haha.

Yea, DC Sports is the only "legal" header.

Keep in mind if you kept everything, the hot-shot will pass as long as you don't go to a super anal-retentive smog place (I passed fine - the hot-shot didn't affect emissions at all... in fact probably didn't affect my hp at all either, haha).

Mission accomplished! Upside: DC header fits fine with a minimum of "fudging", sound and performance are better and a bunch less underhood clutter.Downside: despite anything we've collectively heard, this header (S13, KADE, 4-2-1, 1-piece) is NOT CARB approved. I found this out when I faxed my receipt to DC in a vain attempt to get a CARB sticker. DC responded with a phone call telling me to hang on to the receipt and re-submit near the end of the year, when they figure they'll have an OK. WTF??
