Its an hour before the North American International Auto Show opens. I have access to this entire show, just my daughter and myself all alone. We head to the Infiniti Display, we see, M35's, G's and the void at the top where the Q use to be. I was all prepared to view some prototype that could give clues to the soon to arrive Q. Not to happen!! My friends...... looks to me that if you want a Top of the line performance Infiniti you are going to have to move down a couple of letters to the "M" series. Not that the M is a bad series, its just not a "Q". I was fully expecting something mor exciting than the Lexus LS but I guess its Taps for a long lived performance marque.

Neither Infiniti nor Nissan will ever introduce any new stellar product while Carlos Goshn is CEO. He has already said in a recent Fortune Magizine article that None of his companies will take the lead in any new technology or new car design while he is CEO. He was burned before and said he will not do it again. He would rather FOLLOW Toyoda and other companies and just deliver what currently works. He will never be a risk taker again, words out of his own mouth.

Reintroduction of the Q requires risk. A risK Goshn won't take.

hell, then follow-build a more reliable, affordable ls 460,750li,s class, etc competitor as the new Q and compete! sorry,as much as I want to like the new M,it just is too small and generic looking to compete with the above

I teared up when I saw these words: There will be no Q45 for the 2007 model year.

Besides, what other car has the letter Q in it's model name.

This one.

The Quattroporte stickers for twice as much as the Q45, still it is not twice the car.

who cares, take advantage of the depreciating prices of the G50. It's a hidden gem. The general public doesn't know it's potential.

a fixed up VIP style G50 Q will rock against any S class, LS, 7 series out there.

keep in mind I said FIXED UP jdm VIP style. G50's in VIPCAR magazine are simply amazing.

VIP car's take time, skill, good taste and patience. But when it's done you will be far ahead of the game than the guy who spent 80,000 bucks for a new 7 series.

That is a beautiful car. I wouldn't pay for it, but I wouldn't mind having it. I herd that the SMG is a little harsh.

What was he burned on before? The G35, 350Z, everything that has been introduced to turn the brands around has required risks that have paid off. Don't get me wrong, I love my A33 I30 but it's a much more conservatively styled and designed car than what Infiniti is making now. And if I'm not mistaken when my I30 rolled off the assembly line people were predicting the impending death of Infiniti. If Ghosn doesn't want to continue to innovate, he'll end up with a stagnant product line getting beaten by the competition.

The next Q needs to be a Japanese 7-series to the Lexus LS being a Japanese Mercedes S-class. The M45 has beaten the E550 and 550i in comparison tests. I don't see why Infiniti can't build a Q that can beat Mercedes and BMW.

Nissan is saving money by taking the Q off the market in US. The sales numbers were sad, and I doubt many were sold anywhere close to MSRP.

The current Q is way too cramped for 4 American-size adults. I'm all for the Q's return as long as it has plenty of headroom and legroom.

Sales guy at dealer (around since 1990) said new Q will be 400+ horsepower...... but I hope they offer a smaller engine as well. M is successful because of the two engine options. How would the M sell if it were offered as M45 only?

Concept Q was on the first Detroit list published but then it disappeared and then I thought Tokyo but then again no luck, I have feeling it got pushed back as both the M and new G need time gain more market share. Infiniti is doing way better thanks to Goshen.
