My 2006 G35 sedan has a pinstripe with a tiny infiniti logo at the end, so I assume it is dealer or factory installed. I think it is paint but does anyone know for sure? I know decals can be removed, but can painted-on pinstripes be removed?

If you feel a sharp edge to the logo then its just a sticker. If its pretty smooth and raised up slightly then it may be a sticker that has been clearcoated over and if its really smooth then its probably painted then cleared.

Would be very hard to get off anything that had been cleared over. Sticker wouldn't be much of an issue. Just paint without clear would be possible, but personally I'd let a shop do that.

As posted above. Just go over it with your finger, if it feels raised it is most likely vinyl; which can easily be removed.

There are several types of pinstripping commonly used. The majority are applied by the tech doing the pre-delivery inspection. If it has more than one color or ornate details at the ends it may very well be hand painted.

As an amateur detailer I have to caution you from scratching the paint because some over time and after years of exposure to the elements even the vinyl will require some attention to remove. There are tools you might want to get to do this yourself.

Please keep the safety on the device I have had one of those bad boys explode at full speed, nothing like molten flying bits of plastic, wear glasses for this one too.
