10K Can, well, as your consultant, I will of course, require half. No, the SOHC is not good for power like the DOHC, BUT TORQUE, OH YES! Do not crap on the SOHC just yet. I have had two DOHC's, and they are reasonable for power, but power to dollar (even canadian dollars) the better bet is the SOHC. Parts are cheaper, and with a higher BS, it may not make the dyno queen numbers, but in the seat of the pants, you can do well. Here's a link to another thread:

Enjoy!

(E.S.: If it's an 89, your compression is 8.6:1, a perfect start for mad boost! GO TURBO!)

pssssh, if you got 10K to throw at it throw in a VK45DE for mad torque...

or be one of the first with a VK56DE endurance motor. we're all dieing to know if it'll fit right in the 240. either way if you go to a nissan website a brand new 240 motor is like 4 grand while a brand new titan v8 is half that.

10K will buy you some real torque.... like 400 ft/lbs of it....

You can get a brand-new Titan V8 for $2k?

Like a brand-spanking-shiny-new off-the-shelf Nissan engine in the crate for $2k? That can't be right... I'd have guessed like $6-8k.

thats obviously wrong

i was doin a gang of studying last week, but what i meant was, i remember on 240sx.org they used to have like superior nissan of texas as one of the sponsors. if you wanted the price of a brand new 240sx KA for an s13 it was over 8 grand

the titan motor was just over 4 grand brand new.

i still have to find that damn site until i can actually verify that, but i cant find the sponsors for 240sx.org anymore

The KA24E is a Great engine, it just needs a little help breathing. The Bottom end on the E is the same as the DE The only difference is the oil squirters. But it still can support up to 400 HP on stock internals. Keep your SOHC Turbo it adn go break someones heart.

(Jordan Gladman) KA24ET T3/T04E 57 Trim @ 16 psi stock internals = 349 HP 366 TQ at 6500 RPM 13.2 1/4 mile

For 10k you can get a RB26dett. I can't think that you'll need mor power than that.

ha, as long as this thread is revived for no reason...

i can now back up my earlier claims of the titan v8. from buynissanparts.com, a brand spanking new KA without manifolds or electrical costs 5,520.76

the titan does not say it doesnt have electricals or manifolds, so i can only assume it does and its price is 4,219, roughly the cost of an expensive rb26

just wanted to clairify that from earlier.... additionally doesnt anyone find it a little ridiculous that a 5.6 liter with 6 bolt mains is cheaper than the KA short block
