Is the Gracenote CD lookup still working for those with internal music HD?

I uploaded two CDs to the (2011) M37's internal music HD ("Music Box"). It used to automatically look up the Artist and Track names then record the CD. On the last two CDs it said it was looking up the info, but came back with nothing.

So I had to use the "Infiniti program "TitelInfoSerch_Navi.exe" which I downloaded from the Infiniti website to my USB stick to then transfer the "unknown CD" info stored in the car's HD to the USB so I could then plug into my home PC where it accesses Gracenote, to get the CD info (which it did) and copy to USB. Now I need to go back to car and transfer this info back to music HD. then I will have the correct Artist, Album name, track names, and cover art.

So, I'm wondering if the Gracenote program is no longer working in car (maybe licensing issue). Is anyone else with an older (pre-2012) M37/56 with internal music HD still able to get the CD info automatically when recording)? Gracenote had the correct info when accessed by my home PC - just not via the car's built in lookup.

If it matters, the CDs were: "Eric Clapton and Guests, Crossroads Revisited" 2016 (3 CDs) and "Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Goin' Home" 2014 (1 CD).

Thanks

I haven't used in the last few weeks, but it was fine in my 2012 M earlier this summer.

Thanks.
I thought it might just be that the CDs info was not available on Gracenote's listings, but when connected to the home PC those CD titles were located (still from Gracenote).
I'll try again later with a different CD, then I'll know for sure.

From what I've seen if the cd came out
after your car it won't have it unless the info is on the cd. It was like that in my 09 G and same so far in my 2011 m

Maybe I haven't had issues since none of the cds I have tried were made after the mid-2000s? Not sure I own a cd originally made newer than 2005.

I thought I remembered reading somewhere that the map updates also update the Gracenote databases. Don't quote me though. :gotme

Interesting, that may be it. I thought Gracenote when "on-line" somehow - Never gave it much thought before.

It seems it would take a very big in-car database to store data for every CD made prior to 2011 (or 2014, in my case, if the database is from the Nav update).

At least Infiniti provided a way to copy the file data for "unknowns" to a USB stick and get correct info via home PC then transfer back to car's Music Box.

Thanks
