After performing the tests in the FSM, I have decided that my FICD valve is not working properly. When it is plugged in, with the screw turned all the way in and the IACV unplugged, the idle sits around 1300rpm.

I have no a/c. Can I leave the FICD unplugged without causing any damage? I have the idle adjusted to a very smooth 750. I plan on replacing it eventually, but funds are low right now. Thank you.

Necessary? No. Helpful? Yes. It also helps bump the idle for power steering.

You should be able to find one used off someone for cheap though. I'd just replace it.
