I read somewhere that most all of the panels in the Q are wrapped in leather. The dash, radio trim, and lower door panels....all leather?

Just wondering because Im planning to do an interior detail soon. I have Lexol leather products, and what not. Trying to figure out what to use it on.

Pretty sure all the panels are, not so sure about the dash. Feels like it, but it feelsl ike it might not be, too.

The seating surfaces and sides of the bolsters, headrests, door upper panels and armrests, and the color-keyed trim on the glove compartment are leather, as well as the steering wheel and shifter knob. Everything else (dash, seat backs, center console, lower door panels, etc) are vinyl. I really like Lexol's cousin, Vinylex, for those parts.

Vinylex works great. I think the upper door part is leatherette, at least on the later ones. Glove compartment?

On the 90 the top half is leather. You can tell when the cover is removed... the back is sort of fuzzy... The color matched rectangle in the middle of the glove box door is the same. I suspect these parts became "pleather" in later years.

I have used 303 aerospace protectant on all leather and vinyl interior surfaces for years in the q- works great as a sunscreen to protect these surfaces,and even the weatherstripping,engine hoses,tires,and even the wheelwells{keeps you from getting snow turtles hitching a ride in there}

Must have been a mid-year change. On both my 1995's the top part is leather but I've seen other 1995's where it was vinyl.

Thats a great idea, i didnt even think about that!!!

Personally for me, when I clean my leather, i just use a warm damp cloth and that cleans them good, then top off with your choice of stuff.....

Im going to eventually (before NOPI) do the leatherique repair thing on my drivers seat..
