Would doing the "Big 3" upgrade really benefit this setup, or can the Altima battery/alternator handle this without the upgrade to the wiring?
running only 300 watts rms, you shouldn't have a problem.... also depends on what car you have... the 2.4 has a 115 amp alterbator, while the 3.5's have a 130 amp alternator... but for only 300 watts rms, the Big 3 is definately NOT necessary....

if you're running the factory battery, any system puts a strain on the factory electrical systemn, whether you notice it or not. THe big three provides more power and better grounding... more power going to the alternator means it doesn't have to work as hard to try and pull power through the 4 gauge factory cables to keep your system and the rest of the car running optimally.
Wear and tear on your system may begin to be evident in a couple of years, but only 120 watts rms isn't that bad with a 130 amp alternator...
I would never say the Big 3 is NECESSARY, but it always helps!
