Is the axel broken..?

I just got my 240 project, it felt fine as i drove it home, but I just noticed this.



So....since i'm a noob, its broken right?

Also does anyone know where I can get a replacement passenger side view mirror, and a new windshield in So-Cal, thanks.

its not an axle, its a tie rod. it controls your steering(notice its coming out of your steering rack) axles are on the back of the car. its just a boot thats ripped. you can replace the boot if youd like. but for now, just keep an eye on the fluid level. as for parts,search cragslist. Also, search/look for some entry level automotive information sources
