Is the 2008 QX-56 Worth the price?.....

I'm currently at a crossroad in my life and i'm thinking of getting rid of my G coupe for either 08/09 M45 or 08/09 QX-56...could you QX owners give me some insight as to which package/combo is best on the QX and also what price range should i be looking to pay at the dealership???

The QX I believe is the best value for the dollar when comparing to all the other Lux SUV's. I believe dealers are 5k-8k under sticker right now. Maybe some recent purchasers could shed some light on that one for us.

Got my fully loaded QX for 1300 under invoice 3 weeks ago.My wife loves it.

I'd say at least 1000 under invoice (including the 1500 rebate)

Now I wish I'd waited a month and read these post before buying our QX. We're in the Northwest and the Intellegent Cruise was not available but got the rest of the options all for 55k. Obviously not under invoice but I didn't push them all that hard either. We had a 30k trade in which they were more than fair with; that made a huge difference in the sales tax. I'd forgotten they can only tax on the difference between your trade-in and new car cost so we walked out with lower payments than I'd hoped for. Here again, had I been more informed going in I'm sure I could have saved more. Good luck in your purchase, make sure you walk in armed to the teeth with as much information as you can find and it doesn't hurt to get online, get the price you want, have it sent to the dealer prior to the sale through one of the online purchasing agents. Feel free to ask more on that if you'd like. It does help in my opinion.

Ricon30, I didn't get a chance to drive the M45 but did drive the M35x with the V6 and it's a beautifully designed little racer of a sedan. Very inconspicuous in design but incredibly fun to drive. With the extra oomph from the V8 I can only imagine the rocket-ship kind of acceleration it possesses. That said, I had the family with me while driving the M and then we all transferred back into the QX. My mom-in-law is older and her comment was one of relief when getting back into the QX. If you have older passengers, the stiffer, sportier suspension of the M might be an issue for them. Keep us informed, love to hear what you decide.

Thanks for the info, i was also looking at the M as well but i'm leaning more towards the QX side cause of the extra room, especially if i want to transport family members i think the extra room will come in handy, right now i see that they re-designed or slightly upgraded from the 07 model, so i might pull the trigger on the 08 or wait and see if they do "something" drastic for 09 or 10...rumor has it that there will be a NEW QX coming out

I don't believe the new model will come out until the 2010 model year at the earliest when production of the QX56 is moved to Japan. The '08 is a very nice improvement over the '07 and earlier. I had an '04 QX56 up until January of this year, and I now have an '08 Armada, and man, I can't believe how much better the '08 is, really quite amazing considering it is basically the same vehicle, I am one happy customer.
