All D21 pickups in the US were built in the Smyrna, TN plant, AFAIK. That includes years 86.5-97

You can get a few different types of tail lights types for the D21 right here in North America. I bought a set through APC and loved them until I sold the truck.

You can also get your hands on Prism style rectangular headlight bodies. Clear marker lenses and then you can scoop super bright colored LED's ( Amber for the front signals, Super whites for the tails and backups. PS the 2000 Frontier's rear bumper will fit a 90's era hardbody. You just need the Frontier brackets to make it work. It looks much better than the D21's OE unit. Of course you could just have a smooth roll pan installed at the back and go a slick look.

The D21/Hardbody was not only built in the USA as Dessert Rat thinks. They were also sold in Australia, Africa and Japan and were widely popular in a 4 door configuration. Too bad they never offered a 4-door in the US and Canada until late 1999 in the Frontier format.

The overall body lines of the 90's era overseas counterparts were pretty much the same as their North American cousins but the box had tie down hooks on the outside of the top lip just like the early 80's Toyota pick-ups had. Don't waste your time with JDMing a D21 on the body side because there is almost no difference. Now you start talking engines and you can JDM that drive train like mad.
