everyone who's done the swap says it's AMAZING but...maybe it's just to cover up the cost and work put into the swap? i looked at stock AT 1/4 mile times for the 4th and 5th gen AT vq30 and the difference is only .1sec!

i have a 4th gen stock gle and beginning to wonder if the mod would be worth anything...or just keep my manifold and do what i can to squeeze some hp out of the motor before adding boost?

Some of the picture links are broken in this thread, but it will give you an overall summary. zerothread?id=213099

Edit: Actually the graphs only covers the MEVI, but the 00 Vi is discussed in that thread.

thx, i've read that one a long time ago and that's what got me thinking about swapping manifolds, plus everyone swapped says they're great. well, i doubt it. i think that $/hp it's not worth to do the swap. i'd like to hear some honest opinions from people though.

I had it and it was well worth it. While the difference in ET may be .1s, you have to keep in mind that the 5th gen is also heavier than a 4th gen. The power curve of a DEK doesn't fall off at 5500rpm-ish the same way a DE does. At redline, a DEK will make 40-50whp more than a DE. It's a huge difference. It's benefits are magnified with boosted cars so if you really do go that route, you've got nothing to lose.
