Is replacing halogen bulbs difficult?

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Since EX35 does not come with HID lamps standard, I figured I might put some GE Nighthawk or Silverstar halogens instead of the stock ones, for low beams. User manual states that for halogen replacement you should contact the service department, which I thought was excessive, it should be something I could easily do.

When I opened the hood, I started to understand why they ask you to contact service for this. The chassis construction beams are running so close to the bulb mounts that it doesn't seem easy to do at all. Maybe I'm missing something here, is there some trick to replacing these, or do you have to pull out the whole front lights mount piece before you can access lamps?

ya, there is not much trick there.you can do it on your own. but it is not easily done.you do need to show some squeez into that tight space, or you need to take some of the parts apart.either way, its not as easy as it should be.

I hope you have slim hands and high tolerance for pain! Its not that bad I just remember it being a non-pleasurable experience... key is to pull up the plastic/rubber molds around the light housing and you should be able to get in there. Just a lot of patience and manuerving.
