Hi all,

This is a very nice forum! Well done!

Anyway, I never own a 4X4 and never own a Nissan before. All my cars are either Honda or Acura so far, all black in colour! However, the Nissan dealer around where I am living is having a great deal on the 2004 Pathfinder Chinook. CAN $30988 before tax and PDI etc. The Chinook has everything I wanted except leather and rear disk brake. My question is: Is the Pathfinder a good car? What is the common problem with Pathfinder if there is one?

I have 2 Acura now, a 97 EL and 2000 TL. Both have no problem at all. But the EL is getting old and having lots of milage on it.

I am also sick and tired of surrounded by MiniVans and SUV in a parking lot. Watch out minivan owners... Thanks.

If I'm not mistaken, the Pathfinder is "recommended pick" as rated by Consumer Reports. These trucks are pretty much bullet proof.

use to have a lifted 92 pathy. it was real nice offroading but the stock suspension is way too low compared to 4runners. was definitely reliable.

I love my 4x4 01 pathfinder! The only problem you may have to watch for is the in dash CD changer going out on you if you have the Bose system... not a big deal.

We just traded an 02 Pathfinder SE 4WD for the 05 Altima 3.5 SE. Exhaust leak and passenger side power automatic up forgot where the top of the window frame was... only troubles in 54K miles. Great truck. It rode a little rough, but its a truck. It was very stable compared to many other SUVs in its class. I'd buy another one if gasoline wasn't costing so much.

Got $17,900 on trade vs. MSRP of Altima.

Thanks all for your response. I did some research last 2 weeks, and am aware of the problems with the Bose system, SES, O2 sensor, and low gas mileage etc. But I think I really like the truck and I am getting one very soon. My Chinook will be ready to pickup on Dec 1st!. The dealer give me a good deal, CAN$29700 for the Chinook and I could trade in my 97 Acura EL for $5000 with 210,000 km on it. I think this is a very good deal.
