I was just wondering if they were ever going to bring back the 240, since they brought back the 300 (pretty much). Does the 240 have a big enough fan base or is nissan sending us a message that the 240 is next?

Good question, I think it is plausible. I guess only time will tell though.

I think if they were going to bring the 240 back, they would have brought it back before the 300.... but I jhope I am wrong... maybe they will bring out the cheaper, little brother back!?!?

If they do, I just hope they dont screw it up. Its gonna be hard to satisfy the hardcore 240 fans like us if they plan on bringing it back. Oh and black, nice car, it kicks ***!

I guess you are right about the classic value thing. I swear I see more Porches in Louisville than the 95-98 240s. Does anyone have an idea of how many 240s were manufactured from 95 to 98?

I've seen several 240's in my town. I think i've seen like maybe 8 or 10 around town or somewhere.

As sweet as a new 240 sounds, they won't bring it back.

Not going to happen. As nice a car as it was, it wasn't a big enough seller here. Much of the blame for that is Nissan's awful marketing of the car and their underpowered engine choice for the American version. But to a glass-is-half-full person like me, the low sales means there aren't a bazillion of them around (like Probes or Moostangs), making them more interesting, especially as they get older and more rare.

Be careful when you think you see 240's brini, half the time I hear someone say "hey that's a 240" or "hey that's you car" I have to correct them and be like "no, that's a ford anal probe"

I don't see the resemblance between s13's and first gen Probes. If anything, a front fascia of a 240 (90-94) reminds me of a Porsche 944.

I doubt Nissan will bring back the Silvia/usdm 240, it's great that they even decided to bring back the Z, with the state of the economy and all, Nissan appears to be making a comeback but not enough to be re-making the Z's little bro.

Matt, its a 240 when you see the words on the car that says 240sx with the nissan logo :doh and not to mention I've seen 3 200sx as well. ;)I think I know one when I see one and I always double check.

And btw, I know what your car looks like and what it is. I've told plenty people I talk to online what my car is. I would no longer say I have a Plymouth for Now and they ask if it was something else after I just say what it was. But I'm looking forward to having a differ car by the end of this year. :xfingers

buy a Q45, not a 240. maintenance is a ***** but you can find 90-93s for less than 3k.

That could be a fun little car for sure if it were to be. I personally would like to see one, but I don't believe it's in the cards unfortunately

Ive sent many E-mails and even tried to call some people at Nissan on this.My sugestion is to make a 250z on the neew Spec V platform as an AWD 2.5 turbo.Or use the 350z plat form and make it a RWD.But like everyone said the 350z is what they are selling now and a 250z would take away from that.Pluss the market for a RWD sport coupe isnt there.People would rather have FWD(not me even though I have 2 FWD's).

Jezter, I would have to respectfully disagree with you my friend. I think a 250z wouldn't harm 350z sales at all. If Nissan would do it the right way, they would aim their sales target for a younger crowd and for different competition "for example the neon srt4, rsx, celica, etc." The 350z would be and I think is aimed towards the more expensive competitors out there, "lexus is300, bmw's, etc.". I do like your idea of using the 350 platform though or using the spec v 2.5 and putting a turbo "lets say at 12psi max" and making it into a rwd. What a car that would be guys, what a car!

Im sure Nissan would at least think about it if they havn't already. If I could get ahold of the right R&D person. What wwould be better? a RWD 250zT on the 350z platform or an AWD 2.5Turbo on the Spec V platforrm? I like the 250z Idea better myself but I think that they would have better luck selling an AWD 4 door 2.5 Turbo Spec V.Like it was said that would put it in the class of the WRX,Neon,Is300,Masdaspeeds...ect.. for compitition.

yea, i like them both, and would rather see a 250z, but the AWD platform car sounds more feasable. would you buy one Jezter?? just to add to your nissan collection?? :D

edit: well wait, if the car was kinda your idea, they should at least give you one. so dang dude, you would have three relatively brand new Nissan's. sweet!

I like the idea of a 250Z on the Spec V platform. Drop the QR25DET in it and you would be ready to roll!

I like that idea the best, and I think a lot of people in the tuner world would like to have more rwd's on the market. I think that is going to be one of the next big things, rwd I mean, esp. for the import world. Rwd's are so much more fun and can launch off starts better than any fwd could. I am not a big big fan of awd, because of the complications to the transmission's and they do not hold up very well and are very expensive to replace. The cost part I think would stop nissan for the awd. Just my 2 cents though, lol.

QR25de? I'd like nissan to bring in an high revving na monster.

Why dont people like RWD? Its not that they dont like RWD they just think lamborghini's are the only sports cars and they would rather have a SUV or big *** truck with chromes. At least thats what most of the people I know think. (But then again i go to a rich private school and every other person has a bigass ranch)

FWD is inexpensive, stable, and "safe" and ordinary people who want "fast" cars dont care what they get

I have a question that should probably should have a new thread but why is it that FRs get better launches than FFs It would seem FF's would get better launches because they haave a lot of weight over the front tires.

Also, has anyone pioneered a rear wheel turning system? The rear or front tires could actually drive the car.

the reason front engine, rwd drive cars launch so much better is becuase the force of gravity and I think the correct term is "velocity, but don't quote me" pulls the rear end down. If you have a fwd car you have too much weight I think and you begin to wheel hop. Its not all about weight. Also a rwd turning system in my opinion is illogical. Ever try driving a rwd car in reverse for a long period of time and turing accuratly?? Not very easy.
