I took my max in the other day to get the maf repaired and I noticed tonight when i went into my trunk to change my cd magazine that my changer was haging by one screw and my beauty board that was the trim piece around my amps that trimmed out my trunk was broken and my whole setup was pulled forward like someone was trying to steal my equipment but gave up b/c my box is mounted to the floor of the trunk. Can the dealership be held accountable?

It may not have been the employees. was the car left at the dealeship over night? it could have been lot thiefs. that happens from time to time at our dealer. They were probably in the process of stealing it and someone approached. The problem, it is not uncommon for customer cars to be left unlocked when they are on the lot. It happens on our lot sometimes. it is not intentional but just absent minded occurance.

Yeah ... we just get so used to leaving windows rolled down and doors unlocked on top of being in a rush all day and almost always stuff happens.

If it occured at the dealership then you need to confront them about it. It may or may not be covered under their insurance.

I agree, if you are sure that it happened in their posession then they are responsible. This is especially if they were to do something as dumb as leave the doors unlocked and leave it outside. I work at a local Firestone and EVERY night I pull in cars that are staying overnight either until I reach the end or fill the garage.
