Hey guys, i have a little doubt on whether or not my timing chain in dead on.....here is some pictures, the number 1 cylinder is at TDC and the cam lobs for the cylinder are faced the way they need to be, what has me worried is the passenger side and how the timing marks are lining up, the "Pin" on the camshaft gears dont line up with the light color chains, but they do appear to be at the right angles, please gvie me some input before i have to tear it down and start from scratch

Was the motor running before it was pulled? If it was, then you should be fine as far as timing goes. You really won't be able to tell if the timing is correct on both banks without pulling off the front covers. There are 2 timing chains, and both are timed slightly different. When you look at the manual, the right bank chain is put on first, then the crank is turned 120 degrees for the left bank chain to be put on.

the motor was from japan, there is good amount of sludge, the timing guides were the old style ones and were broken so i switched them without pulling the chains off.. yea i saw the manual and read it and it seem like it was right, just that someone didnt put the chain on to match it up right bit the motor itself is good on time.
