So i think i finally figured out my problem. I checked my TPS today, and the signal wire (the white one) is making 4.6 volts at idle, and 5.1 volts at w.o.t. my car is a manual but my car has an automatic trasmission TPS and the are like 6 wires, am i testing the right one? Also if i do have to replace it, can i use a tps from a manual?

anyone?

i just want some conformation before i go out and try to find one.

also, i have heard that the nissan sentra S-ER, 200sx and 95-98 240sx all have tps sensor interchangeable with the sr20det. can any one confirm this as well?

If it's changing with throttle position it's the right one. Just double check that the other ones are a constant 5 volts and a ground reference.

Like i said there is a bunch wires because its an auto tps, but im pretty shure i have narrowed it down to which ones are the ground (black), power (red, and green red stripe on the harness [5v]), and signal (white).

i checked the resistance of just the tps with an ohm meter, it was reading over 50 k ohms at idle and 2k ohms at w.o.t. Im pretty shure that means its bad, but correct me if im wrong.

why are you running an auto tps? they have two connectors--- I am running a ka throttle body for cruise and an sr20det tps from the old sr throttle body--- I would change to the s13 sr tps for sure.....

My auto tps only has one connector, but it does have 6 wires. thats just what came on the clip.

I can go to a junk yard and pick up a tps from a 95 240sx, a 200sx, or a sentra s-er (correct me if im wrong).

do you think it will be worth it just to buy the tps for an s13 sr brand new.

The FSM tells you exactly what wires do what and they generally only have 3 wires. power ground and signal.... the auto tps does some different things....using two wires I believe for signal -- check the fsm.....
