Hello all-

I have a 1992 SE coupe. Last night my car would not start and when I would turn the key I would get just a click. The first time I did it I got a couple clicks and after that it was just one click everytime I turned the key. All electrical things were working properly. I just cursed it and went out to the bar. This morning I got up for work and tried it and it fired up. I figure it is the starter and it just caught this morning. But I just wanted to get anoter opinion.

Secondly, assuming it is the starter, is it an easy thing to replace. The instructions on 240sx.org look pretty self-explanatory but if you guys have any tips let me know.

Last, whats the generally cheapest auto parts place for that kinda stuff.

thanks for any help,Micah

P.S. I wanna know why this damn driving moms car thing is here if i find out who did that im gonna drill a hole into hell and let the demons out for them.....jk

Hey man it sounds like your starter my starter was doing that same thing it would not start then a little while later it would start. As for as time to change it is really easy if you are mechanically inclined it only took my uncle 10mins. it took us longer to get to the part store than to change the starter. My new starter cost me $125 at advanced auto parts. Hope this helps!!!

Your starter still has a chance! Before you go blow 100 bucks, listen to me.

I had the same problem, id get a click, and get clicks for about 20 seconds, then itd start. The only problem was some loose wires.

Look at the starter, disconnect the wires and reconnect them, make sure its all tight. My car's worked fine ever since.

If wires don't fix it and you ever get stuck somewhere (before you get a chance to replace it) and it won't start, if you can get to the starter and hit it with something that sometimes will get it to start. Starters when they start to go get dead spots, that why sometimes it will start and other times it wont.
