99600 miles, Y33 Q45. So recently my car sits in the garage for like 4-5 days to as long as two weeks before being driven a little. I noticed that recently though, that it takes longer to crank the car to startup. Do these starter motors go out from sitting too long?

You mean it takes longer for the starter to start turning? Measure the battery voltage.

AHHHH!!! i have(had) the exact same problem, and its not the battery voltage that made it crank slower, cause i replaced it with a optima red top... didnt fix anything... so ive been bumpstarting it for 3 days, i think im just gonna replace the starter with a NAPA one... any input, its not just a relay or something is it?

That's what I would like to know too! If it's turning the engine over, but the engine isn't starting as quickly as normal - I wouldn't think the starter is the problem.

well, with me specifically the starter isnt actually turning as fast, that is until it stopped turning all together... oh well, $166 (116with like a $49 core) to napa for a starter. putting it in later today.

originally i thought it was the battery, and until i hit the starter with a hammer this morning, and i tried starting it then, it actually made some effort, so im 99% sure its just like the brushes in the starter, oh well.

99600mi, isn't that a short life for a Q's starter?Would replacing the relay (some time ago) have helped any?
