Is my setup too much for the stock maf and fuel system? SR clutch question too

Well it's getting real close to getting the CA running. I bought the setup from a friend and it has a s14 turbo. Other than that it's stock. I have 2 ecus with the motor as well. One is stock and the other is a mines ecu tuned for a T28, .9 bar, stock maf and stock fuel system.

He ran the ca with the stock ecu at stock boost and it ran like a champ.

From what I've been reading, it looks like .9 bar on a T28 could be the outer limits of the maf's reading capability. Is this setup pushing the stock system too far? (I have a walbro 255 and nismo FPR btw, so the fuel delivery isn't an issue, just injector flow capacity)

SR clutch questionI have a real nice SR ORC Ogura single plate clutch and flywheel setup I would love to use on the CA.

I've read EVERYTHING about this, knight rider's thread ect. From what I read, it looks like I can just take a cutting wheel to the nose cone of the regular CA starter. Is there any reason why this would be a bad idea?

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

I can hit 16psi on my T25G with my KA24E maf and not hit fuel cut. Kinda scary. Yes, you will want to run at lest 450s with that kind of boost on that turbine.

Interesting. I'll mess around with the boost starting low and see what the wide band reads as I go up. Maybe bump the base pressure up a bit if it's leaning out.

Anyone have and info on cutting the starter?

450's, do the talon stock injectors drop in? A fellow s13 owner gave me a set and said they will, but i have no information on them.

I'm also curious about the clutch issue. I heard the sr flywheel is a big upgrade because it opens up the opportunity to use sr clutches... Bookmarked thread for answer

It's been covered, the SR flywheel will work w/an SR clutch, and either a modified starter, or a Hitachi, gear reduction style starter from an S12. There may also be clearance issues with the bellhousing that will have to be resolved.

Could you PM/reply a link to a write up or more information? I've been searching for it for a while now, my clutch is being replaced in a month or so, I'm trying to upgrade everything I have to replace with my new car

It looks like the bell housing clearance issues were only because he was using a Z33 clutch that hung over the edge of the flywheel. I'll post if I have to grind anything with my setup.

there's no need for dramatic modification here. just order CA specific parts.

http://www.perfectrun.com.au there are Cusco clutch kits and whatnot.

i ordered from them on the 22nd of March and received my parts last tuesday. they even beat Enjuku Racing, which i ordered parts the same day from. their parts arrived a day later, and by UPS, which charges brokerage.

I believe http://www.enjukuracing.com also has Spec clutches.

I was antsy and ordered my clutch in a rush too. i bought a Zoom clutch ( http://www.zoomclutch.com ) from a local dealer. the part is american made, so it arrived in 3 days. If i had known my JUN flywheel from Perfectrun would only take a week, i'd have ordered a cusco clutch and flywheel setup.

i'm using DSM 450's and they work fine. you need to take the o-ring from the top of the stock CA 370's and reuse it on the DSM injectors. that way they fit in perfectly.

i would say your good on the clutch i used all stock sr clutch and flywheel and sr bolts. and the ca18det starter that it came with. with no grinding cutting or buying an s12 starter. i never understood why people say that you need to buy a new starter with an sr clutch and flywheel. i never had to. use your original starter if for some odd reason it doesnt work buy and s12 one. i say go for it thats a sick clutch kit
