a couple of weeks ago i posted a question saying that my factory bose stereo in my 90 300zx didnt work. well it still doesnt work(but does light up at night). i did some research and found out that if the antenna wont go up the radio wont turn on. is that correct? because sometimes when i start the car i can hear the antenna trying to go up. if this is the problem how do i even get to the antenna to fix it????

thanks

I don't know where to start on this one.Anyway, I will try...even though there is really no info to go on here.I am going to assume that your display is not working either? The backlighting will come on with the dash lights...I must assume that is what you mean?Anyway, with most Z's, the Bose amps will fail over time due to moisture and shock. Getting little or no sound is common. If you still hear the power antenna motor running when you turn the radio on then you likely have 4 bad amps and a head unit with a burnt display. Unless you want to spend crazy money, you can simply buy a replacement system. I run zmaxsystems and we make complete plug and play systems for Z32's from about $100 and up. Of course you can reply on your local assembly line chain electronics store...shell out a few hundred bucks, and let them go "hack and cut" crazy on your Z too...let's hope not.I will try to get my 300ZX Bose info page back up and will update.
