If it was me I'd pull the motor and find another shell, that ones gonna take alot of work to restore itbcvinar wrote:Hi everyone, I am dreading asking this because I'm afraid time may have rendered my poor car useless. First off, I am from the northeast where rust is, well...pretty common. I have had my s13 for as long as I can remember and I would hate to let it go. It has a sentimental value that I couldn't put a price on. Below I am going to leave some links of the s13 rust I have found over time. I really want to hear peoples honest feedback on whether I should keep the car and do resto or just get rid of it. I have done a ton of work to this car including an sr20 swap. Thanks for any replies

Yeah New England sucks. I do have quite an attachment and I really do want to keep it. I may end up keeping it. Honestly I don't want it to die and I don't really care how much it costs to fix, ill do it because it means that much.240jaysx wrote:i understand your attachment to the car but sometimes these things are money pits.. get a s14 or try and move on and get that mazda your thinking about.. its sad. i live in new york and have had to get rid of old 240's in the past s13 coupes cause of rust issues...theres comes a point where its to much to put in then what you get out of it..im trying to post pics of a old coupe and show you the similar rust issues and how i fixed it..but im kinda new to this forum and still cant figure out how to just post pictures. without a link that does not work. if anyone can help me it would be nice. i also dont wanna turn this into a teach the kid to post pics thread either. lets talk about the car.
Yeah I plan on getting around to the rust soon. I have actually never driven in winter. It's because the roads have salt year round.240jaysx wrote:well if you it means that much to you then i would keep it. you could get a better shell but it wont hold the same meaning and will prob feel weird not being in your car you love. i mean try not to drive in the snow. lol. in new england i bet that will be easy lol.. and getr around to fixing the rust.
