Well we just got finished putting my motor in about a week ago, and its been running fine until yesterday. I was on my way to work and I stopped to get gas and when I pulled out from the gas station it started. Its like as soon as I give it more than like an 1/8 throttle its starts bumbling and shaking like it wants to die. I let off and its fine and it idles fine. Its like as soon as it starts hitting boost it does it, or as soon as the vacuum hits 0 and starts going up. It sounds like its missing or something, I can hear the turbo spooling and the bov releasing air fine. Its acting like it did when my ignitor chip was goin bad. I think it might be something in the wiring though because it stopped doing it for a while and then it started doing it again. Its happened on and off 2 or 3 times but now its just doing it all the time now. I've checked over everything and I cant figure out what the problem is. Does anyone have any idea what could be the problem?

sounds like a boost leak of mafs problems to me but I'm sure you have checked both of those since you said you checked every thing.Do you know someone who has a runnin sr? if so ask them if you can put there ignitor in and test if that helps or not....

I tried my buddys ignitor today and that wasnt it. I have a Walbro 255L fuel pump. I've only had it in a couple of months, do you think it couldve went bad that soon?

I put a brand new walbro fuel pump in and its still doing the same thing. WTF?? What could have came loose or disconnected that could cause it to do this? Anyone have any idea? Would a bad MAF sensor cause this?

I know this sounds stupid but have you checked your spark plugs and wires? My sister has a 95 TSI 5-speed Talon and it did the same thing you are mentioning about your car, when you would punch it or get into boost it would idle hesitate funny and not be consistent. I thought it was the Fuel pump nope fuel psi. was fine and with a new fuel filter no go. Turns out it was the spark plug wire on the No.1 cyl. was jumping to ground through the boot casing and causing a erratic "Misfire/Hesitation" condition 35 bucks later she was a happy camper. just pull your plug wires out and look for any white areas on the boot or wire if you see any thats where your spark is jumping to ground, or another good time to check is at night in a very very dark (read pitch black) garage start it up pop the hood and startshaking wires and you WILL see the spark jumping to ground! Hope this helps!

SR's don't have wires... well at least his doesnt.

Plugs are a pain though... try getting some new NGK Coppers and gap them to slightly under factory gap. Put them in and see if that solves the issue. If not then you more than likely have a boost leak or a vacuum leak somewhere.

try checking the soldering job to the MAF, i had the same problem, turned out the soldering job was messed up, restripped and resoldered and fixed it.

I have the wires all unwrapped and the soldering looks to be held together good. Did yours look good too, and you just redid it anyways? Because from what I can tell its not that.

So far this is everything I've checked that I know isnt the problem-

ignitor chipcoil packsfuel pump fuel filterThe spark plugs I checked and they look to be good, but Im going to buy some new ones anyways. The gap should be .28-.33 right?

Do you think a vacuum leak would cause it to do this? My boost gauge is reading only 10-11 in vacuum when I have it hooked up to the big nipple to the upper right of the throttle body, but when I hook it up to the little one to the upper left of the throttle body it reads around 20 like its susposed to. Do you think that has anything to do with it? Also when I hook my BOV up the the bigger one it doesnt work, but when I hook it up to the smaller one it works fine. Its like the upper right big vacuum nipple above the throttle body isnt getting enough vacuum somehow. What would cause this?
