I got my car running last week, we let it warm up and run from idle to 2500 for 30 mins. It had a miss and when we pulled the plugs Cyl4 was carboned up and the plug gap was WAY small. So this week i get home, replace the plugs and start it up, its better but not good. And i still have the check engine light. In the process of me putting the car back together i broke the wires out of the harness connection for the ECU's water temp sensor. I farmed the plug i needed from the EGR temp sensor and have it wired back in place, but im not sure which wire goes to which on the plug, but it runs best how i have it now.

When i go to crank the car, as its cranking the tach bounces around all the way across the RPMs. When it finally does run the tach returns to normal and the car runs like crap.

I also have an EGT gauge, that is grounded to the chassis at a known working ground and it gets its power from the 10a fuse labeled "interior Lamp". Third one down on the right. And when the engine runs the needle on my EGT goes to a solid negative number.

I have the check engine light and when i try and go into modeII the light wont flash. When i start the car the light will not turn off, which according to the FSM means that either the crank angle sensor or the ECU CPU is bad. I tested the Crank Angle Sensor with the voltmeter and everything checks out ok. Would the fact that the ECU may have gone bad keep me from going into self diagnostic mode II and check the sensors? Thanks for reading all of this,~Sam

alright so i went internal to my JWT ecu, the ROM chip was installed backwards by the guy i had pull the program off of it, its no longer throwing a code and the engine runs a little bit better. The 02 sensor gives off a lean voltage and my tach still bounces around and my EGT sensor is still acting up. I had no problem with the EGT or Tach before this recent build. please can someone help~Sam

Well, i unplugged my EGR temp sensor (not EGT), rerouted one of my grounds from the fuel rail back to the head. I put my SAFC on 5 IN 5 OUT and that helped a whole lot as well. It kinda likes to idle sometimes, and if i hold it steady at an rpm i can hear the engine load up and pop. My tach still bounces around and the Autometer EGT gauge still goes dead whent he car runs. I tested the ground and the source i was getting my power from for the EGT and they test fine. Tomorrow i am going to clean all my plugs, and try and figure out the tach issue and do some tuning by ear and vacuume with the safc.

If anyone with a JWT and SAFC let me know what their basic sensor settings are that would help.uh...thanks for the help so far guys lolcan anyone chime in now?~Sam
