Hi everyone! Im new to the Forums and i dont have much knowledge in cars besides from the basics. I was driving my 2008 Altima Coupe 3.5 cvt (stock) this weekend and i decieded to see how fast i can go in a 1/4 mile (i was thinking of doing some minor mods in the near future). I started from a dead stop and steped on the gas. I saw my RPMs were pretty highbut not into the red. i was going pretty well but when i got to about 85ish mph my car just droped in power for about 5 sec and then came back to normal. Has anyone had this happen to them? is it like somthing limiting me or somthiung wrong with my cvt. plse hlp

It's happened to me off and on but never at that high of a speed, usually it's when I gun it from a stop but I think it's due to my traction control kicking in and limiting me. Either that or it's the CVT safety feature that's built it, it says in the manual it will kick in if it senses any stress to the CVT.
