so i was showing a friend the progress on my car. while in the garage he stepped on my coilpack harness (i know i know, keep it off the floor) and broke a connector or two.

i have a Neo RB25 from an 98 R34.

question:

Can i use a coilpack harness connector from a series 2 RB25, or even from a 26. i've never compared the two. here's some pics of mine for anyone who knows the difference

the broken one

pin configuration

actual connector

...OR, can i get something similar at radioshack, or an electronics store.

if anyone knows the best way to fix this sh*t i'd appreciate it. i'm pretty much flipping out right now thinking i have to buy an oem connector that'll take weeks to get.

thx guys

Ahh dont stress out man.

You and I are in the same boat. The connector from my first coilpack is completely broke off just like yours. I have drove the car 100+ miles with the wires just plugged into the coilpack without even having a snap connector. Hey.. I had to get around somehow. I just made sure the wire was clamped down with the wire clamp that is connected to the valve cover.

So, in short you dont even need the connector. I am not sure how much of a perfectionist you are when it comes to the car but sometimes you just have to do what it takes to get the thing running. If you have to order one that will take weeks, you could run it like I do for temporary. If you do, just make sure you get them plugged into the right pin

Just took this picture for you:

Also, your connectors looks just about identical to mine and I have an rb20. I dont have an up close picture of the connecter so I can not say for certain that it is an exact match.

Glad I could help. When you do plug them in, make sure the metal at the base of the 3 wires can not reach over and touch each other. For extra safety, you can put a barrier of eletrical tape between them. That is something I should do but as it is now I have nothing to worry about.

Sleep well!

I had the same problem. My retarded brother stepped on the first plug and shattered it into pieces. All thats left is the 3 wires lol. But I won the coil pack harness on ebay for $5 so its all good. If you want I can cut a good one off the broken harness and sell em to both you guys?

I suppose that is fair enough. You have to know how to turn your good eBay deals around and make a 200% profit! :p Is the harness you have for a 25 or a 20? Do you know if the clips are exactly the same?

Useless piece of sh!ts!!! lol

If anyone wants one let me know. I don't really know the price of shipping to be honest with you. I can put it in an envelope but i dont know if it'll break by the time it gets to you lol. So let me know what method you want if anyone is interested.

mtr4nch received my plug.

Apparently RB20 Series II (silver top) are the same as RB25 Series I. I was told that all rbs have different plugs which aren't interchangeable. Guess thats false since he claims the plugs and wires are the same. Good to know.

yessir

also, from the pics bumblebtuna posted, the plugs look exactly the same except grey in color vs the brown color of earlier rb's. and from the looks of it, the wiring seems to be the same also (can't really tell though)

so i'm pretty sure those plugs are all interchangable
