Post

I posted a few days back about my 2000 Q45 and all the issues it has, it was suggested to me that I go into autozone for a free code scan, I have an 0bdII reader, not the fanciest model but decent, is this good enough? or do I need something more like consult?

As long as it reads codes and clears codes you're good. Mine was $35 shipped from Ebay and it works great on all OBDII vehicles.

Since you've found NICO and the Q45 forum you won't be needing a consult. Let us know the stored codes.

I also have a basic code reader and @ $60, one of the best investments I've ever made. It helped me to quickly diagnose and isolate problems as well as verify my car is ready for SMOG check before taking it for inspection.

And with the help of talented guys here who have supported me when I was a 'newbie,' the Qs will be with me for a long time. I learned a lot from this forum, though I have worked with other cars and engines before. They saved me lots of money in repair/replacement cost.
