I was driving down the hiway today and my clutch pedal went soft.

The car will not go into gear with the motor running.

My slave cylinder is pushing in the lever. I have a nismo slave cyllinder waiting to go in, beacause the clutch has been acting funny.

I think it might be the pressure plate. Anyone have any opinions what might be wrong before I rip this thing apart?

My clutch is an OS Giken twin plate, so a rebuild will cost $600.

The car might be done for the year.

If it "WAS" a clutch problem, you should atleast be able to go into gear but once you give it gas, it would just slip as though you are pushing the clutch pedal down to start your car and reving it. I usually have that happen to me when the transmission is really hot or an inidcation of new fluid. What I do to get it back into gear is pump the clutch a few times and it works just fine for a few shifts. Then I have to repump the clutch a few times and it'll work for a few more times. I upgraded to a better brake fluid and it works fine.

I pumped the clutch until my leg was sore.

It has to be either the pressure plate.....or something.

did you check the clutch fluid in the clutch master? that happened to me before, fluid was low, had to refill it, leave it uncovered and pump it for a good 30 minutes.

As long as your putting the nismo slave cylinder in there i suggest getting a SS clutch line to eliminate the stock clutch dampner. All the dampner does is trap air and make the pedal mushy for people who cant handle a quick engaging clutch
