alright so as i drive around for a while (engine fully warm up). my clutch pedal wont pop back up or if that doesnt happen then my clutch pedal would feel REALLY soft like my pressure plate (running stock clutch) or w/e is going out.

what can it be? clutch going out?

time to bleed the system... and maybe replace your slave/master cylinders.

yeah, bleed your clutch. but it sounds like a m/c problem.

I had the same issue too. Felt like the clutch was slipping when the engine got warmed up. It turned out that my master cylinder was bad and was allowing the fluid to bypass a seal/valve onto the slave cylinder, dissengaging the clutch.

Get another master and make sure your adjustments on your clutch pedal are set up within reason/liking.

One way to test this method out, if it's really your master cylinder is after the car gets warmed up and the clutch starts 'slipping', bleed your system and see if that makes a difference. If it does, then it's your master. If not, then I don't know.

My car is doing this right now, after 3-4 minutes of driving the pedal goes to the floor before engaging. Driving on the interstate it'll randomly pop into neutral. Last night it happened and I pushed the clutch in and nothing, had to pump it 3-4 times before I got enough to hold it in and grind it back into 5th gear...pretty scary **** at like 95mph. Short drive like from here to across the street and it's great, anything longer and the engage point gets deeper and deeper.

lol, i had been having this for the longest time, but it never got really bad until a few weeks ago, so i just got the clutch and master and slave cylinders replaced, along with the damper removed. why all of these you ask? well since its been doing this for so long, all the slippage probably messed my clutch pretty good, and might as well do everything while your at it... also got the transmission fluid done as well. i go to pick the car up in half an hour. (once im done work) i cant wait to see the difference as my clutch has been screwed for so long.

Replace the mc and slave, remove the dampener box, bleed the heck out of it and all will be right.

I'm having a similar problem.

Last night I parked my 89 SOHC coupe....everything seemed to be fine and running well.

Woke up this morning, and there is no pressure in the clutch. Pedal feel is sloppy, and it won't engage. The fluid level was low...but hasn't seemed to drop since I started trying to diagnose the problem.

Master cylinder? slave? do these regularly fail without warning?

Any input is appreciated.ThanksMark

Your car is 19 years old. Unless the mc or slave is relatively new- replace them, remove the dampener box, bleed the heck out of it and all will be right.

The mc and slave cost about $50 total.
