The More i look at it i'm wondering if my new car is an SE or LE? When i baught the car from the 2nd owner he told me it was as SE... but i'm not too sure, it has the following...

No Badging on the rear hatchback7 Spoke Alloy RimsGrey Leather SeatsAll options except for ABS, LSD, and SuperHicas

If any of you know which one it is, or mabye know how to tell, (looking at the VIN maybe?) please help me!Thanks!

Yeah, i'm getting mixed opions from the local 240 guys as well... Is there no way to tell with a vin or serial #? I work at the local nissan dealership, i guess i'll give the Service department my VIN, and maybe they will know for sure... Thanks!

whats the VIN? go to http://www.carfax.com and punch in your VIN and it will say 1991 Nissan 240sx SE or LE. it will also tell you your body style and such. the only part you have to pay for is the part that shows how many times your vin has been run (accidents and repairs mostly). good luck

if its not a convertible, and has all power options (windows, door locks, mirrors), and has the seven spoke rims, oh and the factory sunroof and rear window wiper, then you can almost bet its an se.

I bought my 1991 240SX LE Fastback brand new in 91. The LE's were NOT only a convertible option. The only difference I believe between the SE and LE is that the LE has a leather interior; gray or tan. The cloth covering on the LE door panels is more of a smooth, plain gray cloth in comparison to the more textured, speckled cloth of the non LE cars. The LE's also have a black, leather covered shift knob. (not sure if the SE's had that) The LE's also had an LE decal on the rear hatch. HICAS was an option on LE's also; not mandatory. My car has anti-lock brakes, but not HICAS. Bill

hicas was NOT an option on LE's - don't tryin convince yourself otherwise.. I did that when I bought my car 4+ years ago when I was 18. Who wants hicas anyways. Just drop in and lsd, its all you need.

Also - 91 was the only year that LE's had an option of ABS.

Leather was an avaliable option on 93 SE's.

You have an LE unless the seats were swapped.

I agree that you have an LE. The LE's had a little bit extra in the luxury department, ie. Leather seats and abs and such, nut did not come with Super Hicas or a limited slip diff. Do you have a power sunroof? Also the SE's had a leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob.

The listing for the '91 is not quite accurate. The compression ratio and the reverse gear ratio are wrong, and thats all I noticed without consulting my FSM. That suggests that more may be inaccurate.

My '91 LE has leather, abs, and an LSD. I have no records of the previous owners or what they did to the car, but when I bought it it was completely stock. I highly doubt an LSD was put in by a previous owner.
