A friend of mine was junking some cars today and he said he had a Maxima in there, so out of curiosity I went over and looked if I needed anything out of it. I saw the MAF and it looked a lot like Z32, even the plug looks the same.Since it was free, I got it, but looking up the part numbers they are different than the Z32 MAF.So the question is1. Will it work???2. Is the plug the same as Z32

P.S.the wires on the plug areblack, white/black, green/brown and inside a grey cover there is a black and white wire.

PS2.I just checked the wires with the info on heavythrottle and it looks like the plug will work with Z32 MAF, the green/brown wire isn't used. Now if only I was lucky enough to have the MAF work too :crossfingers:

after looking around on the web for a pic of Z32, I have to say that they are identical to eachother, but I don't know if they are interchangable. The Z has the orange sticker as maxima one has a purple one. :shrugYeah I know the bolts are different, but since I got the MAF adapter, its easy enough to fix with the drill press At least the plug is the same, so I am ahead right there. And for free, I can't complain.

The Maxima MAF has a different voltage calibration, it does not resolute the same amount of airflow as the Z32 unit but it would be one less element of restriction in the intake on a low power car.

Sooo you telling me it will work, just not to the same hight HP as Z32? AND it flows more air through it? Thats would be good, as right now my SR is pretty much stock.

Yeah it'd work with something to adjust the voltage the ECU see's like a ROM tune or a S-AFC. And you'll need an adaptor to get it to fit to the stock intake piping.

Seems kinda worthless to me... just put up the little bit extra to get the Z32 MAF. You'll only be doing that in the end.

well, I can get a Z32 for cheap, that was never the problem, but the Maxima one looked identical, so i thought it might work. The plugs are the same, so I'm good.I will be on the hunt for Z32 MAF, as there are quite a few Nissans getting junked.
