I've been searching and got vague answers. so here it goes.

I installed a N62 Maf into my s13 ka24de-t25. after the install and driving around for about 20min and getting off the offramp i saw blackish white smoke coming out from exhaust. i went out to check it and it continue to smoke out and smell it and it had a really weird strong burnt smell similar to burnt cookie. car idles great and doesnt overheat. at the time i was running Afcneo tuned for stock maf, all i did was set it to 2in5out so the car will idle good. but now i got a e-mance ecu tuned for the z32maf, 460cc dwerks and still the same smoke. car runs great, so i was wondering if the maf is bad, can it cause the car to smoke?

black smoke is fuel burning. You're running rich, or you're burning off something else. I had white smoke coming out of my exhaust when I was running rich, because I also had an oil leak that went haywire.

it cleared out now and everything's fine on my own. Double check your settings, set it up all over again if you have to. check your plugs.

find the FSM for the 300ZX and test your maf.coolant burning would have a sweet smell to it.

White smoke means you're burning water, blue is oil and gray/black is fuel. If you have gray/blk smoke it's cause you're buring TO much fuel and it's running rich. As to why it's running rich that's up to you to find out.
