F.Y.I. this question, or some form thereof, is asked like 736 times a day. Try a search...you will find that it really comes down to personal preference. Of course, I know almost nothing about turbos...which is why I don't post in the KA-T forum. Like you should have with this question (especially if you want to hear "yes". If you want "no" go ask in the SR20DET forum). They can be of more assistance over there. And welcome to The Great Debate.p.s. One vote for KA because they are great engines, higher displacement, more low end power for cornering, already in the car, can EASILY handle the same boost as a stock SR20DET with no modification of the bottom end (don't go too much higher though, unless you upgrade the shortblock), and they are a dime a dozen. Welcome to NICO, now go research and develop your own opinion on the matter

i can beat displacement...with more boost mwahaha. love saying that to v8 guys.

sohc...lol. single cam heads flow like crap compaired to dohc so kaet<sr20

kadet...low end torque over the sr20, lower revs

sr20det...slightly better flowing head then kadet so better high end hp, higher rev limit.

so anything anyone says about kadet-sr20det are opinions BUT i will always choose sr20det...sr>ka=reliability

If you're comparing two engines with forced induction, the engine with the higher displacement will get higher power. Engine dynamics aren't nearly as important when you're just stuffing air into your cylinders at high pressure.

I would love to put an SR in my S14 but I would in no way say that SR is more reliable than KA. Those little b!tches are tempramental. The engine is strong but it's all the other little crap like sensors and such that always take a crap on you.

Reliable? I don't think I've ever seen an SR20DET last to 200,000+.

These types of things have been discussed to infinitum, you should be able to search and find the information you need.
