Hey guys, I have a chance to buy a Turbonetics stage 2 ballbearing turbo kit with intercooler and greddy emanage ultimate for the Ka24de, for 3G's, Canadian, barely used. The guy has it installed on his hatchback but he sais it needs tuning to get the emanage to work properly. ( which in my opinion sounds a'lil fishy) something about the air fuel ratio. Anyways,My 1st question is , is it worth it in your opinion for that price????

I'm new to the whole scene, and I dont know a whole lot about turbos. I know, I know "search foo... " but I need to make a quick decision before its gone. I looked it up on google and that kit costs around $4300 US new, Does anyone have that kit??? any experiences with it or comments welcome????????

Also what needs to be changed internally in the engine for a setup like that, if anything???? I dont really race yet or drift I'm just looking for a little extra

Go to the top of the KA-T forum and read the stickies. People run turbo setups on stock block all the time, but the question is how long will it last.

i dont know how big that turbo is but depending on how much WHP you are planning to make you would have to get your long block built with lower compression piston and better rods plus a good Headgasket. Dont waste your money on the e-manage, get a whole ECU tune which is way better. Ka's are not made for boost so after a while you will have to build up the motor to handle boost.

Save your money and build up the motor first, with 3G's you will have a close to fully built motor. i'm getting mine done for about 2500 total. you can probably get it for cheaper.

Save your money and do it the right way. going ka-t is fun but blowing a piston ring is a b*itch.

Tere is no need to build anything just to run a turbo...reguardless of size.

The motor needs to be in good working order, if it's a high mileage motor, I suggest a rebuild. Only because the added heat and stress of the extra power CAN...not nessasarily will...cause serious issues.

The Emanage is expensive for being a piggy back. So many people opt for a rom tune or other fuel management options. In fact, I can't say for sure that I know anyone running the Ultimate. I can say that it's better then the old version, but thats about it.

Whats the price in US? $2100 or somehting like that? If it's a complete kit that's a pretty good friggin price.

the reason why i say build the motor is because usually most of the noobs want turbo to go fast or drift and probably end up blowing something due to lack of $$, patient, knowledge, or getting too happy with the gas pedal.

stockInternal ka's with the right set-up can handle a lot of beating, It really depends on how you drive it and your set-up.

I agree that it depends on what the car will be used for. Basically the answer is simple, figure out your power goals and build accordingly.

You can still drift/drag on the stock motor, just improve the same things you'd need to do on a built motor. It's not the forged internals that keep the motor together. Its the oil cooler, bigger radiator, good oil/water pump and general maintenance.

Any 240 with 250whp can get sideways.
