So I've been adding junk to my car an an alarming rate and now I'm thinking of installing a K&N intake. Is it worth it to do this? Can this mess with the ECU or anything else? Their site specs a 14HP gain, for those of you that have one do you notice a difference?

it does not mess with the ECU. I dont know about that 14 hp claim, but a K&N will definitely provide quicker throttle response, and of course a nice sound...

As far as "is it worth it", id say that depends on if you're in it for the long run... after a few years, a washable K&N will pay for itself versus replacing paper filters for $10 a pop

I'm not gonna lie, I kinda wish I had spent my $300 on something better, like a new exhaust system.

Sorry I meant to say intake kit not just a filter replacement. This is the cheapest one I could find @ $243.00.http://www.race-mart.com/items...l.htm

Well put. My suggestion, put in a catback stainless Flowmaster exhaust (if you don't already have an exhaust installed). If you still have money left over, buy the K&N filter (not the FIPK) and pull the air box resonator out. I think that will give you the best hp gains, the best sound and the best longevity.

I would save the $300 and make your own custom chrome arm and filter for less than $80. The drop in filter doesnt make a difference in noise at all, but the washable deal is pretty nice, I threw one in my moms car

Yes it worth it!!!! The engine bay looks a lot neater and the sound it makes sounds AWESOME!!!!! I bought mines used from EBAY for like 100 bucks.... Just look at my picture of my engine bay..

I would look around first and see where you can get it cheaper...

As far as EXHAUST I installed a MAGNAFLOW muffler two in outlet single outlet out the back of it and deleted the reasonator... That was only about 150 bucks installed...
