ok a buddie of mine has this ka siting in his garage. it was turbo and blew a piston ring apparently. it has low compression and he says cause it messed up a piston ring(s). the motor has only about 80k on it. should i just buy it and replace the piston rings? or if the piston rings blew, would that f*** something else up? idk hope somebody can help

give him $50 for it, ONCE YOU TEAR IT DOWN, the ring lands are trobably toast, if the rings lands are toast then there may be irreparable damage done to the block or head, tear it down and check the cylinder bores and head because if the rings or lands are gone it has to be torn apart anyways.....
