Ok i have a nice 1999 Nissan Altima with 78,000 miles im 18, and its got the ka24, so its fun to drive but a kind of purplish color. Im a guy by the way. Its nice and fairly fast but its a girls car period. Well i was driving down the road and what do i see but my dream car, a Alpine white 240sx SE well i go to take a closer look and its a 1991-94 s13 not sure the exact year, in mint condition cosmetically with cd player and exhaust . Its also a stick notch back, which i prefer to get that Silvia feel when your lookking at it.Of course its got the ka24de in it like my Altima but its got 180,000 miles on it. Now heres my question. Im only gonna be 18 once why not have the car of my dreams and give up this granny car for a college girl. Heres the prices 2,200 for the 240 and i plan on selling my altima for 5,500 or trading it for the 240 and 2,500 cash. Well simply put is it worth it?

every 240's a money pit. haha. I picked mine up w/ 185k on'er, cept I only paid $250. But thats not the point. If its your dream car, get it. Sure, it'll need some TLC, any car does after 100k-150k, but if its in decent condition, its worth it. I threw a new exhaust on mine, new tires, and got it inspected. Man its a blast to drive! Good luck bro! If you do get it, be safe, and have fun. (safe fun lol)

240s are actually *not* money pits.

Everything on/about them is cheap to work on and replace, compared to lots of other cars.

If you know how to do work yourself, they can be one of the cheapest cars out there to own.

use that extra money to buy an air compressor, a welder (wire feed mig ebay == $100) and a cherry picker(i got a new 2 ton one at kragen with an engine stand for $150)then at least an impact wrench, walmart sells an air tool starter kit (impact gun, wrench and air hammer with fittings and bits) for about $50, then a $25 grinder and youre set

that will be the best investment you can make on your car, the ability to never pay anyone again to get work done (minus engine machining or sand/bead blasting...or maybe paint .. but you can get spray guns and do it yourself also.. just practise on scrap metal/old cars before you do your baby)

test drive it and if its all good go for it, i can almost garantee that you will enjoy driving the 240 more that the altima. also listen to the smart man above. buy at least the compressor and welder they will be the best investment ever that way you have them when you need them later.
