okay so heres the deal.

i want to know what you people think i should do.my engine needs work and im curious if you think if itd be better for me to just try and get a new car of fix mine.

i have a 1995 nissan 240sx se.

compression test shows this

1st CYL : 145 , 2nd CYL:160, 3rd CYL: 150, 4th CYL: 135

i believe their supposed to be around 180?

also the codes show a cam postion sensor fault and a knock sensor and crank postion failt.....

also some more info is it needs to have back and front windshelds replaced and both side windows.

stock suspension are cut to be lowered.

everything else is...jus about so so ya know?

i got this car from my dad in this condition andi barely found out what was up.not me and my brother in law can work on it and fix it.either get a new motor and or try an rebuild this one.

OR...jus try and sell it and get a used car.

what do you guys(gals) think ......thnx....

btw i am in love with my car...haha thts whats making this hard.

Keep the car.... You don't know if the used car you would get would break either... 240s are the best... you could swap in a low mileage SR.. that's about $2500or get a KA24de for like $300-$500 there are plenty around... now if the body of this 240 is in awful shape then yeah... sell it...

and whoever had the car before probly ragged the holy **** out of it, as evidenced by the problems and the cheap-*** mods like cutting your springs... how sad is that.

sounds like it needs TONS of tlc, but as long as it runs its still a car, right? and youre a step above the civic/neon/cavalier crew...

yeah...im guessing he tried tro race the hell out of it. it had all those chinese symbles decals on the windows and what not too.

not to close or great. but yeah so i guess im going to try and put a new motor in the car anf replace some other parts get new windows because all thoe ones now have these ruge scratches like some one took sand paper and went in circles..or ..somthing i dont even know, but their horrible...then save up get a new suspension then jus go from there.

Sell it and get an S13 coup... ohhh and then do the S15 conversion to the S13 coup!!!

keep it! it might be hard to get another good condition 240 since they are becomming so popular now days. give it the TLC it needs and you will have a sweet *** car. if it needs a new motor just get one. save up money or whatever you have to do and get a motor. you could install it yourself. this will help you learn everything about your car and you will appreciate it alot more if you do the work yourself. good luck and keep that nice s14

keep your car man just fix those problems you listed above and im sure even if you don't fix them i'm sure your 240 is still running somewhat good to get to you A to B and save up for a few months and buy another ka24de, rebuild that one you have now, or buy CA18DET its the cheapest swap.. cheaper than sr20.

yeah it would cept its from new mexico and i brought it back to cali...and cant get it smoged.
