I have a '97 I30 with 92,000 miles. This car runs like new, never a miss, and the performance is still great. The last service was the standard 60,000 Infiniti service. Oil change every 3,000 miles, never missed.

The interior is mint, but the exterior has the normal wear and tear of a '97 (slight ding, little scratches, etc.) Most troublesome are my front and rear bumpers that will require work and/or replacement to look new (know I need new jackets, etc.) Then, paint and all that.

I'm ready for new tires and my wheels are pretty dinged up from curbs, could use some new wheels for looks only.

Bottom line, I have been exceedingly satisfied to date with this car. I see no reason to get rid of it, even though I can afford a new one. But . . . I'm into having a good looking car, so I am thinking about cosmetic improvements.

Is it worth changing out the bumpers, painting, etc? Also, is it time to think about more agressive preventitive maintenance? Timeing chain/belt?

What dollar amount would you reinvest in this car, if any?

THANKS!

Crash:Welcome to NICO!!!Hope you enjoy your stay.

If you like that car, spend whatev amount you see fit.

The trdae-in value and even the retail NADA book value are all pretty meaningless as you never know if you will like your next car as much.

The internet is replete with stories of folks selling a well liked car for a newer one cuz they could afford it and coming back to the same car or same brand later.

This is especially true of Infiniti owners.

Buying another car is SO much more $$ than making this one perfect even if you had to do something major each year for this one.

Fred..:)
