I've had my s13 for over a year now and im am going to start modifying it, but there's one problem RUST!!!! I just put money into the car buying and installing a new engine. I really would hate to let my 240 go, but if its not worth the fix then i have to let go of her....What do u guys think??? Should i fix it or get rid of it???? If i should fix it around how much would it cost????

start looking for a new shell. i got rid of mine for the same reason, but it was much much worse. this is the early warning sign.

alright, your driver side frame rail looks almost identical to mine, and i have one small hole in the on the other frame rail. i also have 5 other rust holes on my floorboards.(probably more rust than you have).

I took my car in to get a quote at a local motorworks shop. i was quoted $325 too have it all rust cut out, metal welded in over the holes, and sprayed with truck bed liner in those areas. I thought that was a pretty good deal. a lot better than finding a new shell. the guy at the the shop said he has done it before and showed me how he did the same thing on his rb26 powered hatch

rust is so common up here. be sure to take out your carpet and seats and look for rust everywhere. get under your car with a flashlight and search.

Thanks for the help..glad to find someone who had the same exact problem and got it fixed because many people who have this problem find a new shell and part it out their 240, but im going to fix this problem. Is this something i have to fix immediately or can i wait until the spring to get it fixed because money is pretty tight right now

its not the end of the world to drive it like that, but make it priority to get it fixed. you want to start with a clean base.
