I walked out on the deal. The Infiniti dealership I went to has the worst customer service ever. Man, I survived high school and college without putting up with bullies. There is no way I am going to tolerate being intimidated, bullied, talked down, practically screamed into buying a car that I really don't want now that I am grown. The car I originally wanted to buy was a FX, I ended up with an EX under pressure. I still want to buy an FX, I'll try again in a little while, I dread going through that painful experience again. Some of these people at Lynbrook Infiniti are sophisticated bullies, thought they could intimidate a young black girl buying her first car. Like she is so excitedly young and stupid, she'll take any bones thrown her way.
Congratulations on your car! I hope you didn't deal with the same bullies I had the misfortune to meet.
That is interesting... I had a similar experience with a dealer in Mass. I had signed a deal on a left over 2011 (this was 2012) but negotiated on the loan, and unltimately put down more money and got a lower rate (after threatening to get a third party loan) than they wanted. They were bullying me not to get me to buy, but because they wanted me to walk since they sold it for a lower price than they expected given the financing deal. Once I figured that out I refused to break the deal, and told them they could but I would trash them on the internet if they did. They gave me the car at the agreed price and loan terms, but when they installed the cross bars and cargo cover that were also part of the deal, they put in USED parts. I complained to the general manager who used exactly the same wording that the salesman, sales manager and financial office had used: "but you said you would finance with us", and my exact refrain was "but I did finance with you", and then each made it plain that it was expected I would finance more money for a higher interest rate. Ultimately I told the manager that putting used parts on a new car is a bait and switch tactic which is against MA law, and I would contact the AG's office. That got her attention, and after I agreed to not trash them on the internet (hence I will not name the dealership) they swapped out for new parts. I love the car, but here I was buying my most expensive car in 45 years of driving, and it was the worst sales experience I had ever had, and I have had some doozies.
