I dont know this car and dont know how long it will last with this power.. but i know that it's possible. It's all in the tune. Cory's stock internal ka-t did up to 400+whp around 20psi so i dont see why this isnt possible.

It should be noted that the video is from 2006... I was also hoping someone had actually seen it before or knew who it was.

It's been done before. The motor obviously won't last long at that power level. But I'm pretty sure that video is legit. http://www.ka-t.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=30526

Its legit as far as I know. That guy is a member of NICO. His username is "Jeff Taylor". After that KA-T, he built a VH45DET with 450whp at 6psi. The guy is good...

If he tore the motor down after that run I bet one or two of the rods was slightly bent. AMS was tuning one of their cars, Chris's IIRC and they bent rods and just over 500whp.

I'd say 450 is the highest I'd go without new rods. I've put a rod through the block already...ruins the whole damn motor vs just swapping a cracked piston and honing the cylinder.

It lasted til he pulled it out for a VH-T.

I doubt he drove it around at that power level everyday...

Its real, the motor was purchased for less than $200 and had god knows how many miles. He had been driving the car on around 400whp for over a year then upped it that night. The car made at least 2 separate trips to Bristol motor speedway after that (maybe more) on crappy tires went very low 11's. The last night it was @ the track he said something felt funny~ tore it down after and had 2 bent rods (it was still running quite well @ that point). I was in the dyno room the night the video was made and the numbers are spot on. Tune was done by Jeff w/Scott Onishi (yellowmunsontunning) watching over. And it was his DD at the time, drove it aprox 15miles to/from work everyday. We all worked together @ the time.

And THAT is what I call evidence.

You were in the actual room? You know the guy? Sounds like friends at least.

Cool

When he ran the 1s do you know how much boost he was pushing?

Yes in the dyno room @ Ride Revolution we all worked there at the time.

I'm thinking the charger was holding 30psi and maybe spiking a little above.

Those really must have been some crappy tires for sure.

At 30psi I am thinking 10s should have been a reality.

Is there anything official for stock KA block records?

I think this is probably the record for power but 1/4 mile drag???

Anyone seen a faster 1/4 mile time on stock block?

Well unless it's 'recorded' somehow then it's not a record.

Who's Jeff? What did he run? Was his block/head stock?

LOL seriously I'm retarded...

If anyone knows him, try and contact him to find out what he ran in the 1/4 mile.

I'm not sure I count his run anyway since his compression was not stock (He used a Cometic)

NO only mod to the long-block assembly was a head gasket. Only other mods what was bolted to it ie: turbo manifold injectors etc...

Sorry I cant remember/or find exact time/speed car ran
